Megan Hettich fell in love with yoga the first time she took a class in Kansas City. Her yoga journey began in 2010, as she struggled with training for my first half marathon; yoga completely changed her perspective on how and when to push her physical limits.
While continuing to practice, she began to realize, it wasn’t just the physical benefits she was reaping. "Stress and anxiety from a hectic work life started to decrease, as I learned how to take yoga off my mat. It’s shaped me into my truer self, allowing negative storylines and habits to slowly fade away. Every day brings a new challenge and lesson on how to practice the 8 limbs of yoga, acknowledging there’s so much more beyond the asanas," she says.
In February 2016, Megan completed her official 200 hour RYS Yoga Teacher Training at the Maui Yoga Shala in Paia, Hawaii. She currently studies Traditional Chinese Medicine & Ayurveda. "I’ve been able to overcome some chronic health issues I’ve dealt with since I was a teenager," she explains. "I incorporate this knowledge into my classes, helping students target more within their internal bodies. It’s really helped connect the dots of what yoga really is, finding how to recognize & remind ourselves that the body, mind and spirit thrive as one."
"I’m beyond grateful that I’m able to share this practice with others. I love seeing the energy of unique, beautiful individuals coming together to breathe, to move, to unite and to be present."
